What information we collect
We collect personal information from you in the following circumstances:
When you contact us via our website form, by phone, or by email, we collect your name, contact details (phone number, email address, postcode or address), and any information you choose to share about your bathroom renovation enquiry.
When you visit our website, we automatically collect limited technical information including your IP address, device type, browser type, the pages you visit, and how you arrived at our site. This is collected through cookies and analytics tools as described below.
When you arrange a home consultation, we collect your full address, photographs and measurements of your bathroom, and any preferences or requirements you share with us during the design process.
When you become a customer, we collect information needed to deliver your project, including payment details (which are handled by our bank — we do not store card details), correspondence relating to your project, and photographs of completed work for our records.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 16.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
To respond to your enquiry and provide a quote. To arrange and carry out a home consultation. To design and deliver your bathroom renovation. To communicate with you about your project, including scheduling, updates and follow-up. To process payments and keep accounting records as required by law. To improve our website and services through analytics. To send occasional updates about our services if you have asked to receive them.
We will not use your information for marketing purposes without your clear consent, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
Legal basis for processing
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases for processing your personal data:
Legitimate interests — to respond to your enquiry, to provide our services, and to operate our business.
Performance of a contract — where we are providing renovation services to you as a customer.
Legal obligation — to keep accounting and tax records as required by HMRC.
Consent — where you have specifically agreed to something, such as receiving marketing emails or having your bathroom photographs published on our website or social media.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information to anyone. We share information only where necessary to deliver our services or comply with the law:
Our website host (Squarespace) stores form submissions and website data on our behalf.
Google (Google Analytics, Google Reviews via the Elfsight widget, Google Maps) processes anonymised website usage data and displays embedded content.
Microsoft (Clarity) processes anonymised website usage data for heatmaps and session recordings.
Our accountant processes financial data for tax and accounting purposes.
Suppliers we order materials from receive your delivery address where products are being delivered directly to your home.
HMRC and other regulatory bodies receive information where legally required.
All third parties we share data with are bound by data protection law and contractual obligations to keep your information secure.
How long we keep your information
We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary:
Enquiries that do not become projects: up to 12 months, then deleted. Customer project records: 7 years from project completion (in line with HMRC requirements for accounting records). Photographs of completed work: indefinitely, unless you ask us to remove them. Website analytics data: up to 26 months in Google Analytics, after which it is automatically deleted.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to function correctly, analyse traffic, and improve your experience. You can manage your cookie preferences through the banner that appears when you first visit our site, and you can change your settings at any time through your browser.
The main categories of cookies we use are:
Strictly necessary cookies — required for the website to function (for example, remembering your cookie choices). These cannot be disabled.
Analytics cookies — Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, which help us understand how visitors use the site. These are only set with your consent.
Embedded content cookies — set by third-party services such as Google Maps and Elfsight Google Reviews when their content is displayed.
You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
The right to be informed about how we use your data (this notice). The right to access the personal data we hold about you. The right to have inaccurate data corrected. The right to have your data erased in certain circumstances. The right to restrict or object to our use of your data. The right to data portability — to receive your data in a usable format. The right to withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the legal basis we rely on. The right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by phoning 0303 123 1113.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@stunning-bathrooms.com. We will respond within one month.
Data security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against accidental loss, unauthorised access, or misuse. Our website uses HTTPS encryption, our email and file storage are password-protected, and access to customer data is limited to staff who need it to do their jobs.
No system is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in risk to your rights, we will notify you and the ICO without undue delay.
International transfers
Some of our service providers (such as Google) may process your data in countries outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on safeguards approved under UK GDPR — including the UK International Data Transfer Agreement and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework — to ensure your data remains protected.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. For significant changes we will provide more prominent notice on the website.
